It’s a well-known track weapon but now the Nissan GT-R has been turned into an all-terrain beast, by a Dutch supercar specialist, Youngtimers Consultancy.

Godzilla 2.0 began life as a reasonably well-used, current generation GT-R (R35) with almost 30,000 miles on the clock, before Youngtimers got to work. First they fitted new suspension, adding nearly five inches of ground clearance, next they added bigger wheels and chunky off-road tires.

The bodywork grew bolt-on wheel arch flares and mudguards and was wrapped in camouflage, and a roof rack with an LED light bar and spare wheel was fitted. Additional rally lights were then bolted to the front bumper.

Youngtimers claim to have boosted the 3.8-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbo engine to over 600 bhp which is more than the GT-R Nismo edition delivers. Currently for sale in the Netherlands for €95,000 (£85,000), it’s almost as distinctive as the GT-R50 by Italdesign at a fraction of the price.

It’s not the first time Youngtimers has been adventurous with off-road conversions, having previously lifted a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Bentley Continental GT.

With the Safari look already proving popular on the Porsche 911 what do you think of this rugged trend spreading to other performance cars?
