We drive classic cars for a multitude of reasons, and appropriately the MG TB on this year’s Hagerty Bull Market List offers a multitude of reasons you might consider it.
You might, for instance, wish to participate in vintage motoring events and recreation road races like the Mille Miglia – in which case, the TB is about as affordable an entry point as you’re likely to find. You might want to recapture the spirit of the prewar British sports car era, or you might simply wish to have an interesting way of getting to a country pub on a balmy summer evening.
Henry Catchpole finds his own fun driving around a wet and windswept Anglesey circuit in the latest video from Carfection. It’s perhaps not the natural environment for our oldest Bull Market participant (the TB, not Catchpole), but it provides an experience like no other.
As well as covering the history of the model, its XPAG engine and the way the MG TB drives, the latest video also contains some advice from Hagerty’s John Mayhead, editor of the Hagerty Price Guide, on where the market has been, and where it might go in future. For all the other reasons you might buy a TB, having a traditional British sports car in the collection is as good as any.
