Porsche Portfolio Expands with new 911 Carrera S

Filling the gap between the entry-level 911 Carrera and the hybrid-boosted GTS is a new edition of the Carrera S.

Available as a coupe and cabriolet the latest S offers more power with fewer emissions than its predecessor courtesy of its three-liter twin-turbo boxer engine. Its 473bhp is up almost 30 horses on the previous model and there’s also 390 lbft of torque to play with.

Drive is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed PDK transmission and the coupe can sprint from 0-60mph in 3.1 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds more rapid than the car it replaces – as long as you specify the optional Sport Chrono Package. Top speed is 191mph.

There’s an uptick in standard equipment offered including a sports exhaust with silver tailpipes, brakes from the last GTS with discs measuring 408mm up front and 380mm at the rear, plus updated dampers with new hydraulics. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus is included, along with staggered 20/21-inch alloy wheels. On the options list are composite brakes, PASM Sport Suspension and rear-wheel steering.

More leather is featured inside than before, and although the Carrera S is a two-seater by default, rear seats can be specified at no extra cost. Dig through the Exclusive Manufaktur leather list and you’ll discover 48 different two-tone combinations to personalize your Porsche interior.

Like the rest of the range the 911 Carrera S benefits from LED matrix headlights, a cooled wireless smartphone charger, drive mode knob on the heated steering wheel, with further options including a front axle lift system and the aforementioned Sport Chrono Package.

The 2025 911 Carrera S costs £119,800 as a coupe or £129,800 as a cabriolet and buyers will be invited to push their cars and their skills to the limit at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.
