You won’t want to miss the 2022 Goodwood Revival, as the world’s best celebration of vintage motorsport will see an unprecedented field of champions on two and four wheels compete against each other this year.
A full 12 drivers will be representing Formula 1 this time around, including Sir Jackie Stewart, Damon Hill, and Jenson Button who have five drivers’ titles among them. No fewer than 15 Le Mans winners will take up spots on the various grids, as well as six World Endurance champions, five British Touring Car champions, three Isle of Man TT winners (with 34 victories among them), and five Indycar drivers with ten championships to their names.
Even racing families are represented, such as the father and son pairing of Martin and Alex Brundle, and brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti, while well-known faces such as Maria Costello, Tiff Needell and Rowan Atkinson will of course be returning too.
Goodwood has also confirmed that this year’s Lavant Cup, run for classic sports cars both open-topped and closed-roof, will this year be dedicated to the MGB, celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2022.
A full 30 will take to the grid at this year’s Revival, which takes place at the Goodwood Motor Circuit on September 16-18. The entire event will also be streamed on Goodwood’s YouTube channel.
It’s the jewel in the crown of classic motorsports in great Britain and this year the Goodwood Revival will be packed with racing royalty. The car park alone is worth the visit and we’ll be there to report on all the highlights if you can’t make it yourself.
